  1. I find most of the comics in “PBS” (Pearls Before Swine) to be amusing, or somewhat more so; sometimes, they are absolutely hilarious. I knew it when I ordered it, but I just wanted it for my collection. The strips in here are a collection of the most hilarious, and some of the ones which are amusing. Although I’ve seen some of these strips before, they are always fresh. However, some people will read this book once and put it away (or sell it). So for those people, it might or might not be appropriate. Those who like collections will treasure it. It’s entirely up to the buyer. If you’ve got the money in this economy, and want to help it to recover (or to line the owner’s pockets), go for it. Rating: 3 / 5

  2. This book was shipped timely and in great condition. I will use this seller again in a heartbeat. Rating: 5 / 5

  3. Hands down, Pearls Before Swine is the best comic strip of its time. The creator’s commentary on today’s world is both hilarious and dead on satire. This edition also introduces a new character, Andy the dog. This little mutt’s optimism is very touching and poignant. He is another great addition to Pearls’ line up of unique characters, like rat, pig, goat, zebra, the crocs, and the guard duck.

There is a lot of laugh-out-loud humor, coupled with tender moments in “Saturday Evening Pearls”. It’s a book everyone will like. I give it a big “thumbs up”. Rating: 5 / 5

  4. This is my favorite of the more recent collections, one of several that match the brilliance of PBS’ first few years (don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge PBS fan and think even the “lesser” (relatively speaking) strips are better than most of what’s in the funnies on any given day, I think Patsis needed to catch his second wind). Rating: 5 / 5

  5. I love this series, especially the goings on between the crocs and the zebras. It’s hysterical. All the characters are so true to life and well done. I have all the books and friends love them too. Rating: 5 / 5
